Because of zealous censorship in China, those in the country who try to search Google for "the Tienanmen Square massacre" have been met with disappointment.

The results of these searches have been at best a dead end and at worst result in outright lies and government propaganda pages. Instead of viewing images of dead bodies and social protest, Chinese users see only peaceful images of the modern-day square. Google has posted a simple disclaimer on these results pages saying "According to local laws, regulations and policies, some search results are not shown." Google has been forced to resort to self-censorship in the country in a way that is viewed by many in the west as capitulation. Since Google.cn launched in 2006, the relationship between the search giant and the Chinese state has been contentious. Google has explained that its options have amounted to either giving in or facing imminent blackout, and it has chosen the former.

Despite continuing skirmishes with the Chinese government, a sense of calmness and normalcy pervades the Google campus in that country. When they aren't writing code of working on marketing strategies, Google workers in China line up for five-star meals, attend in-house yoga classes and pedal mini bikes down the hallways of the Beijing facility.

There have been some changes in response to pressure from the government, but engineers persist in their work on an array of products form the company's local music search service to global maps and translation programs. There is a widely held misconception in the US that Google had thrown in the towel in China, but despite periods of uncertainty last year the company never abandoned China. And even though the Beijing office is some 6,000 from the Silicon Valley campus, engineers work on global projects and information flows freely between the two offices.

Google has recently announced the debut of video chat facility. Google has launched this video and voice chat service as a rival to Apple's Facetime application on the iPhone.

This service will enable the Android users to make calls through google talk with help of wi-fi and 3G or 4G networks. As per the Google Mobile Blog this new feature will be introduced with Google's Nexus S Android based Smartphone as a part of the Android 2.3.4 update. Other smartphones working on Google Android operating system will soon get update.

Google has challenged Apple's Facetime application which was launched with the iPhone 4 last year, as well as other applications like Skype and Fring. Google's video chat offers the advantage of connecting to the contacts from users Gmail account.
